Want some champagne? Take a look towards Kungsträdgården & Karl den XII statue. Take the few steps up to St:Jacobs-kyrkan (St. Jacob’s Church). Flan a bit into West Trädgårdsgatan et voila! Or maybe you are going from the Nordiska Kompaniet on Hamngatan and pass by the old Tändstickspalatset (Matches Palace) and discover the stylish facade of HOTEL KUNGSTRÄDGÅRDEN. Under the enormous crystal chandelier, with more than 11,000 hand-held prisms and over 400 kilograms weight, the hotel’s new champagne bar ‘THE CHAMPAGNE BAR by RICHARD JUHLIN’ is the perfect place for those who want to work from the hotel for a while or just enjoy a glass bubble. From the courtyard’s glass roof, the daylight flows and reflects the crown, creating amazing reflections from the sun’s up to the fall.

‘The champagne bar is based on a relaxed, not to say self-distanced view of the wine connoisseur and the gastronomic profile. Here we are costing us to lower the garden, without losing respect for the guest. For many years we have searched for light and look for the perfect place for our champagne bar. Immediately I got into the very high frankofila and, of course, the relaxed room, I felt we had found home. ‘

THE CHAMPAGNE SOMMELIER

He is one of Sweden’s most famous and premier sommelier with a victory as Swedish Champion 2003 and 13 silver at national and international championships. He was part of the second litter of students who graduated from sommelier and higher meal knowledge in Grythyttan (Bachelor of Arts Degree in Restaurant & CUlinary Arts) in the mid 1990’s. Richards wing man since May 2004.

It is amazing that we are also represented by one of the most skilled sommeliers in the Nordic region (six silver at the Nordic championships for sommeliers). I think that Björnstierne together with Andreas Larsson (World champion ’07 and European champion ’04) are the best sommeliers in Sweden and that I have chosen to work with him in my new champagne bar. Björnstierne has gained this confidence because our tastes are so close to each other. We have had the opportunity to duel and challenge each other’s tastes on many occasions over the years. ‘

Our name on house campaign. The concept is based on changing house campaign every fourteen days. In addition to this, the day-to-day champagne list, updated weekly, will contain 12-15 champagnes served per glass. Totally unique in Stockholm’s krog scene.

Richard Juhlin & Björnstierne Antonsson builds an interesting & unique baseline list used throughout the HOTEL KUNGSTRÄDGÅRDEN & BRASSERIE MAKALÖS. Guests are offered champagne, which is personified by some of the strongest stars of the vineyards and the most interesting newcomers. We are looking for candles and candles to offer guests the champagne bar gems & avant-garde & not yet discovered prodecenter. These are represented by both small growers as well as major producers that allow small scale within their ports. This must be done by sticking to the united effort to find the best wines from the best villages and from the honest growers.

Are you a Chardonnay person or a Pinot Noir person? Perhaps you prefer Pinot Meunier-dominated champagne with its exotic aroma. The taste is different and the choice is yours. Different champagnes give the opportunity to pleasant comparative tests of the grape and the earth’s influence on the finished wine. How much flavor actually comes from the grape and how much influence does the microclimate have? How much will the wine maker’s skill in the mix to record? ‘
